Bleaklow and Higher Shelf Stones - 21st June 2018

I'm gonna let the photos speak for themselves over the next few posts, with a view to getting this blog up-to-date.  This was a lovely mid-afternoon jaunt on the Nuttall's recommended route to bag Bleaklow Head and Higher Shelf Stones.

This is the Cock Hill trig point. Manchester's sky-scrapers are visible on the horizon

ruined shooting hut

there is some laborious work overcoming various hags and groughs

it's worth hitting this route in the dry season...

What is in the most part accepted as the summit for Bleaklow Head. Strickly speaking the unmarked knoll to the East is marginally higher. I figured this out in retrospect so I guess I'll be going back at some point...

The views aren't globally revered but I think this is a super special place...

The descent down Crooked Clough it excellent

I didn't take enough photos of this lovely valley which concludes the ramble
