Ingleborough and Simon Fell from Clapham - 30th March 2018

I'm backlogged by a month so I'm going to keep words to a minimum to cover the next few posts...

Heading out up Clapdale

Ingleborough Cave is a hive of (human) activity on a fine weekend

Above the cave, it's a dry valley

Trow Gill is a fascinating spot

A rocky path ascends steadily up Trow Gill

looking back
gaining Ingleborough

It's sad to witness the dying throws of Winter conditions atop Ingleborough, but roll on Summer

A new Nuttall, Simon Fell being the next objective

Crazy oversize ghetto style on Lord's Seat

Looking South from Lord's Seat

Sunshine on a grassy bridleway on the plateau with a slight breeze is my idea of Heaven.

An age-old bridleway cut through the limestone pavement.

Looking back

A delightful path

a magical place

The Norber Erratics are non-indigenous rocks deposited by glaciers

Looking back having just crossed out of the open access land

Robin Procter's Scar is named after a farmer who jumped out of heartbreak

warnings of tough times ahead...

There are 2 dark tunnels descending into Clapham. Their purpose is to conceal this old drover's road from the view of the grounds of Ingleborough Hall.

the tunnels end directly into Clapham, the start and end point
